something to do with laser guns

it has been brought to my attention that fusion guns have slowly been replaced with plasma guns and I do not like this development very much at all
it isn't that plasma guns are bad weapons and I certainly would not balk if given one as a present or even just the opportunity to fire one at a shooting range but the fact remains that plasma guns are probably the worst science fiction weapons available with the exception of certain organic weapons
let's go over the list:

  • laser - if you don't know what a laser is or why it is awesome you are stupid
  • phaser - it isn't very good at killing people but it is good at not killing them which is something most weapons are bad at
  • lightning gun - do I need to say anything more than that it shoots lightning
  • particle beam - another name for lightning gun
  • railgun - any high-velocity projectile weapon is A-OK with me and the fact that they are real and have a theoretical range of 267 nautical miles is just icing on the cake
  • gauss gun - even though the principle is different it's effectively the same as a railgun
  • fusion rifle - it shoots laser beams of nuclear fire
  • atom blaster - the name for fusion weapons in the '50s and '60s
  • plasma rifle - it shoots glowing blobs that don't travel as quickly as bullets
  • lightsaber - it would completely suck except for the fact that plasma bullets are slow enough to be intercepted
  • bee gun - as funny as bees are this is a really stupid weapon
I'll take directed nuclear blasts over slow-moving glowing balls any day even if I do have to suffer my gun being called an "atom blaster"
